Alternative routes to teacher certification programs offer multiple pathways to obtain a teaching certificate in Washington. This search tool includes all approved alternative route programs that are offered this school year. Use the filters to narrow down a list of programs that may be right for you. Contact programs directly for more information using the contact details listed in the search tool.

If you are a school district employee, you can also contact your building administrator or human resources department to learn more about if your district partners with alternative route programs to support candidates pursuing a teaching certificate.

Note: Alternative route programs that have been awarded an alternative route block grant (ARBG) receive funding to provide candidate conditional loan scholarships and support. Learn more about ARBG and awarded program providers. Contact the provider directly for more information.
